HostWoot has been though some pretty rough times over its time online and reached a stage where shutting down was the only option. I'm not going to go into more details as to why we shut down, instead i will link you to the old forum post.

Anyway, swiftly moving on. HostWoot has returned and this time we are going to be offering ONE and only ONE package. This may however change over time. The details of this package as follows:

2048 Mb of Disk Space
15000 MB of Bandwidth
Softaculous Autoinstaller

As always, the normal features any host offers as well as FFmpeg. We will not be using iPanel instead a custom written module by me.

All accounts will be hosted on a VPS (as always) which is virtualized on a dedicated server we own. The stats of the dedicated server are as follows (LAX1):

2 GB (X7SBE) RAM
2000 GB Bandwidth
Core2Quad 2.66 GHz Q9400 - Quad Core
X7SBE Motherboard
100 Mbit Connection
(this server has been online for 59 days | checked at 19th Aug)

We are aware that you may not have as much trust in us because of what happen last time but be sure that we are trying our best to change our reputation and gain the trust with the members. Please give us a chance to do so.. We have very firm rules in place to ensure we do not end up with spammers.

To sum things up:
  • SOTW will now be Signature of the Month (until we have more graphic designers)
  • HostWoot is back under my control.
  • Things will be run a lot tighter around here.
  • We have got rid of iPanel.
  • We shall NOT be integrating the forums into the homepage design (compatibility issues with future upgrades/addons) (However in the future this could change.)
  • A few forums have been removed due to spam and other reasons.
  • Spam will be dealt with promptly and if a user is warned to 60% their posts will be moderated.
  • Posts must have at least 20 charactors.
  • Spamie land has returned.
  • Custom built P2H system created.
  • Dead threads will no longer be archived. Instead they will be locked.
  • -- Future rewards are planned! The more quality posts you have the more you will be rewarded! --
  • Groups "Owner" and "Moderator" have been removed/inactive.
  • Free domain scheme may be started in the near future.
